October Track Event As Exciting As Ever
Last event on PBIR Road Course enjoyed by all
By 5pm on Saturday, a selection of Audi, BMW,
Mini and Porsche
owners had signed up and were anxiously awaiting the
beginning
of the drivers meeting at Braman's Porsche Challenge track
event at Palm Beach International Raceway.
After a brief classroom instruction on safety, course layout,
flags,
and performance and driving tips by PBIR's Chris Festa, cars
began lining up for a night filled with fast driving and great conversation.
The drivers were placed in four groups separated by
horsepower
and driver skill. Then, each group took turns on the course for12 minute intervals where fast driving was the rallying cry.
While waiting to get on the track and for the comfort of
spectators, the Braman Lounge supplied relaxing chairs,
a live-cam feed of the track action and refreshments.
Also that night, the Porsche Panamera made its track debut as
Braman organized Porsche to dispatch three Panamera's with professional Porsche driving instructors for the event.
"This event was a perfect venue to have our customers feel the
impressive capabilities of the Panamera" state Michael Trapasso, Porsche's General Sales Manager. "There is no doubt that the Panamera
is a true Porsche, sort of a big 911 that lives up to
Porsche's marketing statement; Four, uncompromised" Trapasso concluded. In addition to the Panamera attraction, the Radical
race car was rolled out for pro drivers Freddy Rhemrev and
Chris Festa to give participants the ride of their life in.
A gourmet dinner was served during halftime and more driving continued through the closing of the track at10pm.
Our next event is on November 22nd and will be on the 1 mile-10 turn Kart track. This track is very good to improve your braking and turning skills. It will also be a timed event called the MINI Grand Prix.
